It’s certainly been a while since I last posted, but there has been a flurry of activity of late to mention. I am currently in Chicago right now on a trip for research as well as some book publicity. Earlier in the week, I sat down with Jeff Kelly-Lowenstein at Vivelo Hoy, the Tribune’s Spanish-language affiliate, to discuss the book and particularly the role of Chicago in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s antipoverty activism. Here’s the video. Plus I will be on Michael James’ “Live from the Heartland” radio show on 88.7 WLUW here in Chicago on Saturday morning. Copies of the radio show are available by searching “Heartlandmedia” on YouTube. I will also have a book reading from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Heartland Cafe, a wonderful lefty oasis on the far north side of the city in Rogers Park.

Next up: my contribution to Marshal Zeringue’s Page 99 test.
